Description
"It is a licensed facility where some prescribed medications are prepared and dispensed by a licensed pharmacist according to the laws of the state in which it operates. The facility is authorized to engage in storing, preparing, selling pharmaceuticals, trading in decorative items, perfumes, baby foods, medical milk, household insecticides, surgical and optical medical instruments, dental tools, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving equipment, and similar items. The facility can also be the place where medications are prepared, composed, separated, or packaged in bottles or containers, or sold for the protection or treatment of humans. Pharmacies can be classified into external pharmacies, which practice pharmaceutical sciences outside hospitals, and internal pharmacies (pharmacies for hospitalized patients), which focus on patients residing in hospitals.
